Express Entry (EE)

Express Entry (EE) is an electronic application management system that has been in place since January 1, 2015, for permanent residence applications.  It is a mandatory requirement to apply through EE for foreign nationals who wish to apply for PR as skilled workers. The IRCC creates a pool for qualified candidates from which employers, provinces, and territories may recruit and select skilled immigrants. The pool has a ranking system for all candidates. Top-ranking candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR. There are four categories Eligible for EE pool:

1. Federal Skilled Workers (FSW)

2. Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

3. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

4. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Candidates are scored through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which is used to rank candidates "with scores that reflect their human capital and ability to succeed in the Canadian economy." The top-ranked candidates will be considered for an invitation to apply for permanent residence. Candidates receiving an invitation must submit a full application within a delay of 90-days.
